As you know we are big fans of ADEEN here at fashiongrunge.com. Cody first showed me the line a few months ago and we just knew we needed to shoot them for an upcoming shoot. When we were in NYC this summer we had the pleasure of meeting Remy and Yvette. Needless to say we shot the dope snapbacks for the #13th editorial and it came out great. I love the wit and graphic form on each of the designs. Some are more literal and others like the “Chomper” hat is a blend between sculpture and fashion with an urban twist. Loves.

I asked Remy, the designer of ADEEN some questions about his inspirations and what to expect in the future. Check it out!

When did you know that you wanted to be a fashion designer?
I first knew I wanted to be a fashion designer when I had the opportunity to become one. I saw an opportunity to start and I knew its what I would be the best at. Its similar to something I’ve always dreamed of doing so I figured, shoot I’m going for it. Not saying that it isn’t my passion, just saying… that it wasn’t necessarily my EXACT dream job. I loved creating things and I always wanted to make things from cartoons I’ve watched and comics I’ve read. So this was a great opportunity to do it and it worked out better than I thought.
What are your current favorite fashion trends?
I hate all of the current fashion trends because if its trendy right now that means its pretty much dead, and all you really see is the worst of the worst of the current trend.
Do you have a mentor or someone that you look up to?
The only mentor I really have is my mom. She teaches me about everything, that I really need to know about the business side of things. Thats the most important part to me, because I don’t think I really need to be taught design and stuff. But the business and the workings of things of that nature is definitely my mom. Shes the best.

What would be your dream collaboration project?
My dream collaboration would be with a cartoon show to be honest haha I want to work with Pokemon or a new cartoon and design their costumes and incorporate actual fashion into the show. That would be amazing to me.
What can we expect from ADEEN in the future?
You can expect some ready to wear clothing and a lot a lot a lot! I can’t really exactly say, but I definitely have a lot coming!

We ran into Remy at the Yeah Gurl Event this summer in LA and he posed for this photo for us!
