Menswear Monday: Daniel Bamdad

I guess it’s fairly accurate to say that I have a type. Model wise. Yes, I tend to lean more toward the boy with the tattoos who most people think are scary. This brings me to my next edition of menswear Monday. I found Daniel Bamdad through Willy Cartier, another one of my fav models right now. Originally from Germany but now based in Paris, Daniel is really on the rise. He is the current star of the Spring 2012 Vivienne Westwood campaign and thats only the beginning.  I love that the fashion world is starting to accept and celebrate tattoos, because it’s a form of art in it self. Much like fashion.

As If!

James Franco is at it again. As if I really need another reason to love him. Being a jack of all trades he has turned his efforts to directing and photographing 7 For All Mankind‘s new spring campaign. The photos are awesome, the video is awesome, I mean is there anything he can’t do? Love you Franco. Love.

Sunday Inspiration: Drew Barrymore in the 90s pt 2.

Drew Barrymore was one of my favorite inspirations in the 90s. I did a previous post here on her a while back.Even now she’s still is pretty badass. Let’s take a lapse through time to check out her awesome style to hopefully inspire all of you out there as well.

Tallulah Morton for Complot Argentina…

Complot, a Argentinian based fashion label grabbed Tallulah Morton for their Spring/Summer ’12 campaign. The rebel gone grunge vibe is exactly what I’m down for this right now. Looks like I may be taking a trip to Argentina a little sooner than expected.

It’s Hip to Be Square: Michael Pitt for Prada 2012

To quote the infamous Huey Lewis and the News, it really is hip to be square. Well, in Michael Pitt’s case. He was chosen to be the new campaign model for Prada’s spring menswear season. Inspired by the 50s, Pitt shines in the designers new duds for spring.

Now I know it isn’t Monday but we can bend the rules a bit. Especially for Michael Pitt.

does this make anyone else think of American Psycho?

Pierre Balmain Goes Grunge.

So, thank god my prayers have been answered. Balmain has decided to create a diffusion line. The prices of the main line are so astronomical I considered writing a letter to Congress about the legality of the whole thing.

The diffusion line, Pierre Balmain will feature “luxury basics” which we have all come to love. From zipper clad black skinny jeans to printed blouses and blazers, this collection actually makes me want to  slap on some red lipstick and sing in some awesome band at the Viper Room.

stay tuned for my fall adventures if I get my hands on any of these pieces…

Ok so the video lookbook featuring Abbey Lee is just exactly why I love her and Balmain.

Menswear Monday: Aris Schwabe & Shane Gambill for April77 Fall 2011

Ok yep. It’s that time again…Monday. Hopefully this post will reach you all in time so that it really can be read on Monday. This week I was cruising around the Fashionisto website for inspiration (and also hot new models) and I ran across this awesome campaign for April77. I know April77 for their denim but it seems they are branching out to all sorts of things. The brand, which is based in France has been getting loads of press lately. If this campaign is any indication then I think I know why…

Menswear Monday: Willy Cartier

I’m going to say it: I love a boy with long hair. Browsing around tumblr I stumbled upon new model on the scene; Willy Cartier. While he may seem like Rick Owens twin, he is everything that I love in a model. With his androgynous look and gorgeous hair for miles it makes me go menswear monday silly! Now 19, the part French part Vietnamese model has been seen everywhere from ad campaigns to the runways of Paris.

Watch this one…he’s it. ;)

what a great way to start the week…

There’s nothing like the first time…Doc Martens Fall 2011

I got my first pair of Doc Martens when I was in middle school. I begged my mom to get me a pair since they had just come along on the school scene. Since I had a school uniform, shoes were really the only way to express your individuality. The experience was so vivid that I can remember it like it was yesterday. They were black mary janes with two buckles and I loved them so much. Who knows what happened to them now but they will always hold a place in my heart.

For this fall Dr Martens decided to explore the idea firsts. From heartbreak to your first pair of Docs. Enlisting Agyness Deyn and Ash Stymest for the campaign. Styling them in 50s and 60s inspired duds, these are just a whole new reason to love the Doc brand even more.

Of course you know I’m already a fan…

here is the awesome video on first heartbreaks for the collection…

and here is another awesome docs vid I found while cruising around the interweb…

Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley for Band of Outsiders

As you may or may not know yes, I like Harry Potter. Picture my face when I saw that Rupert Grint and Tom Felton were chosen to model for the new Band of Outsiders campaign. What makes this even better is that it was shot at the Magic Castle (a private club in LA) and on vintage Polaroid film! Seems like this week is filled with menswear. I promise there will be something for the girls comin up!
