Fashion Grunge Mixtape #43 : In Perfect Time

It was just time for another mixtape to come around. Lately I’ve been into so many different music types. From 70s punk to 80s new wave and of course the ever present 90s alternative and grunge rock that always rules my bloodstream. Take a listen.

Things have been a little bit up and down, hence the dreaded lapse in posts lately. Sometimes the only thing I can do is put together a playlist that encompasses everything that I’m feeling at the present moment. It almost serves as a music photograph, a glimpse in time to remind me that it’s always darkest before the dawn.

Fashion Grunge Mixtape #38: What Are We Doing Here

rev_2web

This mix is inspired by the heavy sounds that have been surging through my musical life the past few weeks. I’ve been spending my down time from fashion shooting this great band called reVolt, and their song “Public Enemy” is fast becoming one of the most played songs on my iPod.  The cover photo of this post is from their show this past Tuesday.

Play this loud and fast and re-think what you know.

Fashion Grunge Mixtape #37: Pvnk

Last night Jacob and I went to the Project Gallery’s new show, “Rock/Fight” in Hollywood. Yes, there I actually met and briefly said a few words to one of my idols, Henry Rollins. I’m still in shock about the whole thing. The exhibit pairs some of the most famous rock photographs ever and portraits of boxers in the LA area around the 1960s.  It’s pretty enthralling stuff. In honor of punk music everywhere Jacob put together this weeks mix. Enjoy!

I was watching this documentary about punk last weekend and all week I’ve been in the mood for classic rock. So in a little departure from the grunge genre I put together some of my favorite throwback rock tunes that are pretty standard on my iPod these days.
