For a month UK based photographer Chloe Sheppard traveled around the US & Canada with her camera and a desire to capture some inspiration. Here are a few words about her journey:
“For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a particular fascination with the United States of America. After feeling so uninspired for such a long amount of time, I decided to book myself a trip back out there for a month. The first stop was New York, then Pittsburgh, Texas, Chicago, Montreal and then back to New York again. In each place I was constantly shooting, trying to channel the love I felt for the people I was with and where I was through my photographs.
Whilst in New York City I got to meet one of my favourite photographers, and a huge inspiration for me, Petra Collins. That alone was a dream come true. Then in Chicago whilst at a house party, a few of my favourite band members walked in. I got to meet friends who I’d connected with over the internet, who I never thought I’d get the chance to see in real life.
As cliché as it sounds, to me the whole month was made up of a surreal collection of moments and had been just what I’d needed. This was just the start for me, I still have hundreds of places I want to visit and shoot in. And I will.”
