Throwback Thursday: Dazed and Confused

I think my favorite movie just may be “Dazed and Confused”, no joke. I remember watching it on VHS in my room all throughout high school and memorizing every single word. I often think I was born in the wrong decade. Almost everyday I wish I was born just 10 years earlier then I really could have revelled in the 80s and 90s like I wish. I am however very happy with growing up in the age just before technology really took over.

This movie has the most ridiculously amazing cast from the ’90s. Even though the film is about the last day of high school in ’76, it was released and filmed in ’93 so it makes it into the throwback category for me. Join the stoners and the hippies in one wild ride of a night they will never forget. Wooderson, played by Matthew McConaughey was probably the definition of the older sleazy guy who hangs around the high school kids but man, those tight jeans and that hair…swoon. I think I had a crush on every guy in this movie for their utter cool factor. I also wanted to be Jodi, Mitch’s sister. And every other girl for that matter. Please whatever you do if you haven’t seen this movie, play hooky from school and call out sick from work cause it’s seriously one of the best movies ever made.

You’re welcome.

Wintry Sky…

This morning I woke up to the sky blanketed in white almost like it was about to snow. I know that is nearly impossible for it snow in July in New York but you never know. There is something about the color white that makes me think of snow, pure, and just an overall sense of clean crispness. So, here is an inspirational post all focusing around the color white.

I like you like I like my orange juice…

This title of this entry is  a lyric to one of my favorite songs right now. It’s the opening theme to the DC-based web series “Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden”. I wrote about them here a few weeks ago.

A rare Sunday off I’m spending the day cleaning my room and prepping for my first on camera interview with, a new artist collaboration website that is taking the world by storm. Can you believe they wanted to interview me for a feature? Yeah. I couldn’t either. Anywhoo I’m filming soon and you will see the result.

For now as I edit my last shoot here is just a simple photo moment that I really think describes my mood today…Lots of work to do!

i’m chained to my computer for the rest of the day.

On The Cusp…

As I sit my room on the cusp of yet another fashiongrunge editorial I’m pulling inspiration from all over the interweb. With all this crazy tumblr following and tweeting going on, it makes just being on the computer so draining. I have such a laundry list of blogs to check that it makes me crazy. However, there are those times where the music is just right and the creative juices start to flow. That time is right now.  Currently I am absorbing the the Washed Out album, bowing at its glowing greatness. I think Air France would be a suitable follow up record.

I can’t give away exactly what the shoot entails, but let’s say all these photos have something in common.

Time for Change…

As I sit in my sun drenched room listening to the Smashing Pumpkins on vinyl I can think of nothing better to do than start to change. In the last two years I have really enjoyed using my wordpress blog. Don’t worry, is still alive and well!

However, sometimes instead of a stream of words I think visually. It wasn’t until someone at work wondered why I didn’t have a Tumblr. I simply thought that it was too much to have and I don’t want to over saturate the internet with my ideas but then last night I thought, “What the hey?” and I created one.

It’s going to be more of a visual stream of consciousness and occasionally I’ll post some outtakes of the shoots you have seen posted and my other previous photography work.

Link it up and follow my journey on there!
