In the fashion industry inspiration comes from all over. There is an endless cycle that goes around and around. Before the world of street style photography became a hot commodity there was Bill Cunningham. He started out in advertising and then became a hat maker in New York in the 1950s. By chance he submitted a series of images to the New York Times in 1978 and “Street Seen” was born. He has inspired the Sartorialist, Garance Dore, and even Cobrasnake.
Just a few weeks ago his documentary opened in New York and it just opened in LA and I definitely plan on seeing it.
