I remember the first time I saw “The Basketball Diaries”. It still resonates with me to this very day. Such a powerful and true story of the drug addled life of Jim Carroll. Growing up in Manhattan takes a toll when you become crippled and powerless with a heroin addiction. The title character played by a young Leonardo DiCaprio is one of his most captivating of his career. Even to this day. The movie came out in 1995 and is still as good to this day. If you haven’t seen it then I highly recommend it.

I LOVE Basketball Diaries. That film, and This Boy’s Life, are two of my all time favorite Leo films. Actually, they’re from my favourite era of Leo.
