You remember the ’60s? Maybe not actually, but the fashion is still something that I long for when I think about men getting dressed today. There is something about the simplicity of blue jeans, a white shirt with rolled up sleeves and a black leather jacket that just can’t be touched. We also can’t forget the Chuck Taylor’s to top it off.
I remember reading “The Outsiders” for one of my English classes in school. Much to my surprise I figured out there was a movie about 8 years ago. I fell in love with everything about it. It stayed so true to the book and had one of the most amazing 80s all star casts ever. Starring Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillion, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, and Emilio Estevez this was considered an 80s classic. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola it’s a tale of loyalty, friendship, and violence. I highly recommend it.

I taught this to my year 9 class. Was quite a challenge not making inappropriate comments about the collection of 80’s crush icons when we watched the film. Plus there’s the great Get Up Kids song, Stay Gold, Ponyboy. Do love songs with literary references. Nerd alert.

The Outsiders will always be a classic.
We also read the book in our English class & we got to watch the movie. I never knew Leif Garrot was one of the Soshes.
