Congratulations are in order for the designers of New York label, Public School. Founders/Designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne took home the CFDA Swarovski Menswear award just last month for emerging designers. There really is something brewing in the world of streetwear. It’s moving beyond the avenues of simple denim and graphic t-shirts. While those elements will always be apart of the roots of the streets, now it seems that men want the same sophisticated and slick yet rugged tailoring of their female counterparts. I personally feel that any form of individuality can be categorized as “grunge spirit”. It may not be a flannel shirt and band tee of the early 90s, but it’s the new fresh designs Public School, among other new labels cropping up each season is just a taste of what is to come.
I know that we are ending the summer season in the fashion world and we’re off to start gearing up for Fall. It only seemed fitting to show their Spring Summer 13 campaign while we wait with baited breath for their new series for next season.
