Now it’s not that often that I find an inspiration piece from VICE. This however could be the exception. Photographer Kristina Podobed is based in the Ukraine and she took the concept of the “globalized cool” in America. Since they always loved films like “Clueless” from the 90s they used it as an escape from their lives in the Ukraine. These personal photos both border on introspective and editorial. Seeing how the 90s aesthetic still pertains to life in Eastern Europe is a real eye opener that the nostalgia is alive and real.
