A few months ago before switching servers and all that jazz, I caught the Hemlines show at the Black Cat for their new EP release, All Your Homes. I saw the feminist punk outfit last winter when they were just armed with a demo, but now with an official new set of songs and fresh off a small East Coast tour it was great to see the progression within the band in a few short months.
For this show I grabbed a roll of super expired film for my camera, got up close and got a few cool shots but mostly I was there for the music. An unfortunate side effect of shooting at shows is worrying about the flash being knocked off my camera instead of really losing yourself in the music.
This EP starts off with a slam punch of a track called “Agenda” that really pulls you in right away. It would be my dream to see a full length album soon because I’m already wearing the fuck out of these tunes on my computer and in my car. In one of the most surprising and amazing elements of this new EP is that it is released on a red cassette! So stoked to find this out at the show so you know I had to scoop one up because I live in a state of hyper modern 90s nostalgia.
