New York based designer Sandy Liang has one of those wavelengths that I would love to surf. Her designs are inspired by the street and skate culture of NYC but with the ease and nonchalance of the 90s throughout. The denim plays on frayed edges and deconstruction while her coats are full of shearling trims paired with minimalistic details.
The latest Resort collection shot in the suburbs of New York is such a soft departure from the urban setting of her last lookbook. The gingham details, light denim, and lace slips that remind me of the styles Drew and Courtney lived in back in the day.
The SS16 collection is one of my favorites. Not only the setting but that mix of both street culture and a more refined minimal influence. One of the standout pieces is the oversized blue boyfriend oxford shirt.
