a review of natural beauty line, Pink House
—
Yes, I’ve got another great beauty review for you! This time I’ve sampled Canadian beauty and grooming line, Pink House. The line was created in 2013 by two sisters Karen and Tracy. When Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer she began to notice the harsh chemicals that are in many personal care products. Longing for something natural, they got in the kitchen and Pink House was born after much trial and error.
Sadly Karen lost her battle in 2015, and her daughters Lindsay and Tegan carry on with Tracy in continuing to develop the Pink House brand.
I got a chance to try out three products and ask Lindsay more about her personal favorites.
What is your inspiration process when creating a new product?
Our newest product is a Glow Stick – Highlighters for your cheeks, eyes, and lips!
My aunt and my Mom started Pink House together after my Mom got sick with breast cancer and couldn’t find any natural products that worked as good as the chemical-filled products – SO, if you can’t find it, create it. Our biggest inspiration is to make incredible products, with every ingredient having a beneficial factor, as well as being very affordable. After our Mother passed away, Tegan (my sister) and I (who own a lifestyle blog called Treasures & Travels) decided to join our Aunt and continue to help grow Pink House.
Our deepest inspiration is our Mother, along with a desire for every woman to be aware of the products they are using on their bodies, and to feel really good and excited about the ones they choose.
What is your personal favorite Pink House product and why?
I love the deodorant. It is definitely the product I am most proud of. It actually works, and doesn’t leave you smelling weird (like some natural deodorant has done to my pits in the past). Our raspberry face cream is incredible as well, just TRY not to eat it. *btw, you could if you really wanted to – our products are THAT clean.
Lastly, describe what is on the office music playlist?
Ohhh my favorite question! I used to play in a band so I really care about supporting local music. We are big fans of Peach Pit, Harley Small, Daniel Terrence Robertson, and We are the City. Lately, I have been really into angsty front girl rock-ish bands like Mitski, Big Thief, Pale Honey, and Alvvays. I have also been obsessed with the band Whitney as well as Frank Ocean’s new album.

Pit Potion- Lemongrass Lime, $14
Ok so recently I was trying to switch to a natural deodorant and the one that I got gave me a horrible rash. Ever since then I’ve been super apprehensive about trying another one. Not only is this one of the most effective deodorant but it actually keeps me dry all day and it smells amazing!
Glowstick in Rosegold & Ice, $22
Now I love a product in a stick. Literally love. It’s the easiest way to apply product and it doesn’t require lugging around brushes or putting your hand in a pot or jar. I have these in Rosegold & Ice and I smudge a little on my eyelids as a sheer creamy eyeshadow and under my bottom lash line. Just a few swipes and I’m out the door!
Man this ‘whiney’ shade is the perfect blend of a sheer burgundy and gold hue. While personally for me I was allergic to one of the ingredients, I have very sensitive skin so it was just a luck of the draw. I gave it to my mom and she’s in love with the peppermint oil , super hydrating properties, and she’s also in love with this shade.
