I’m turning over a new leaf. I feel like I say this all the time but more music is coming to the site. In trying to sift through the many submissions I receive in my inbox, here is the latest to catch my attention.
Berliose is a Hungary based band formed in 2016. Their brand of emo / alternative rock is a reminiscent reminder of the days when Sunny Day Real Estate was considered to be ’emotional’ rock. Their debut album, Sleep Without You was released on 09 September and was mixed and completed through a truly DIY spirit. With most of the members studying in different cities they utilized different methods by trading vocals and sounds online and building a rehearsal space in the vocalists garage. Completing this album allowed the band to prove that they could do it all on their own. Climbing over obstacles along the way.
They enlisted the help of a photography student to create the first two videos from the album and it’s a sonic visual experience that blends perfectly with their brand of almost psychedelic emotional rock. They’ve begun writing new songs for an EP and prepping for the first live shows. Can’t wait to see where this band goes next.
