We’re on a roll here on the music front. This next buzzworthy band is an adrenaline laced brand of rock hailing from Columbus, OH. They’ve released a handful of tracks which is exciting for such a new band. Playing to a sold out show a few months ago, RADATTACK is moving fast and kicking ass on the way up.
I had a chance to talk to Henry, guitar + vox more on the background of the band.
Bio:
RADATTACK as an idea was formed in the heat of summer 2016 when Henry V first released a set of songs under the RADATTACK moniker, with the full lineup of Henry Velour, Leonard Velour, Eric ‘Duke’ Warner and Izzi von Salvador solidifying in 2017 around Halloween. Our mutual love of music brought us all together at a very young age (Henry and Leo are brothers, so in their case an extremely young age).
What are your cultural influences as a band?
The Rolling Stones / The Clash are a heavy influence in terms of attitude and style, with more recent groups like FIDLAR and Twin Peaks (the bands of our youth!) turning us on to the frantic stylings of rock and roll. The films I love are all in the 70s vein, my favorites being Saturday Night Fever, Dazed and Confused, and No Country for Old Men. The soundtracks to these movies and the swagger they exude are intoxicating and amazing.
Music Video Classics:
Some of my favorite music videos are 1979 by The Smashing Pumpkins, Knights of Cydonia by Muse, and the Jumping’ Jack Flash promo video by the Rolling Stones. If I could pick one director to create a music video for us it would be Martin Scorcese because I adore his films. Also, he filmed ‘Bad’ for Michael Jackson, another classic.
What show do you wish you could have seen?
If I could have seen any group live at a particular time it would be the Rolling Stones on their ’72 tour supporting Exile on Maine St. This was the lineup featuring Mick Taylor and in my opinion when they were at their prime.
Who would be on your dream bill?
I’m going to assume this is current active bands? My dream bill would have Starcrawler and FIDLAR on it, that would be a gnarly ass show.
RADATTACK is bonafide rock and roll muscle pop.
