Gah! This documentary all three of us have been waiting to talk about and break down on the pod. We all have such different connections to this era in music that has stuck with us for the past twenty years. There was sooo much emphasis on The Strokes in this film but also goes into the formation of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, The Moldy Peaches, LCD Soundsystem and more. Aside from what we loved about the era, we talk about some of the artists mentioned that we hated and the odd connection between Julian Casablancas and Courtney Love that def needs a deeper dive on a later episode.
off-topic rants include: the indie sleaze of it all, the darkness of the industry, the bubbling emo scene
