I didn’t realize that the 90s really did have the best when it comes to female centered programming. Growing up during that time made me realize we had the perspective of so many complex and interesting young girls narrating their own stories. Immediately this pilot of Blossom drew parallels to My So Called Life, Felicity, Clarissa Explains It All, The Secret Life of Alex Mack, etc...

I talk the pilot episode and the many plot points they loaded into 20 mins. The show changes course from the pilot to be a more modern take on a family structure. Another important aspect of the show is the costume design by Sherry Thompson that basically informed parts of my pre-teen style inadvertently.
