🎙️[new podcast] Episode 192: You are the most egocentric corpse I’ve ever met. | An American Werewolf in Paris (1997) 🐺🌙 [link in bio]

This is one of those 90s movies that really shouldn’t have been made. Lucky for you that it was so bad that we still ended up having plenty to say about it. @agentmikey007 had the unfortunate experience of seeing this in the theater, but in 1997 we were really spoiled for choice at the cinema each week. It wouldn’t be a true exploration of 90s movies if we didn’t talk about the duds from time to time.

While I wasn’t a fan of this hack job of a script that wasted some talented actors, we at least got a good soundtrack. If you watched that BUSH music video for “Mouth” you basically saw the movie. We talk about how Julie Delpy only did the film to pay for her rent, the awkward performance of Tom Everett Scott, and how Julie Bowen had the best part in the entire film. Also, we read some funny Letterboxd reviews.

This has been a hell of a week. What better time to dig deep in the nostalgia cabinet for such a treasure of show, The Adventures of Pete and Pete.

What a smart series aimed toward my age group at the time. It’s only now I’m discovering the many layers of this show. One of my all time favorite episodes is this one. Lil Pete creates a bootleg radio show and then stumbles upon a garage band that then leads him to discover his favorite song.

This leads to a self- discovery journey and a test of sheer will. I get into my struggles as a kid tracking down my favorite song . Basically this episode is a big comfy blanket for me.

This was a fun one to explore. It’s so interesting to look back and see just how diverse television was when we were young. For this episode we’re discussing two different forms of horror/suspense anthology shows. Are You Afraid of the Dark was on Nickelodeon and marketed to us as kids and then Tales From the Crypt was the more adult version aired originally on HBO.

Me and @agentmikey007 talk two different episodes, The Tale of the Curious Camera starring Eddie Kaye Thomas and Dead Right starring Demi Moore. We talk our history with both shows and just how they really are a time capsule and just a fun watch.
