Well, here we are finally talking one of my comfort films that I saw early in my youth, The Odd Couple. This movie is riot from start to finish and I’m so glad that I could appreciate the writing of Neil Simon. On this watch I saw a deeper theme to this film. There are moments of male friendship and roommate dynamics that I never noticed before. I get into that, the way the film slowed at the end, and the relaxed casual fashion of the late 60s.

This is arguably one of Zendaya’s most mature films so far and the press surrounding it was pretty electric. I still find it crazy that it wasn’t nominated for more technical awards seeing as the cinematography, editing, and art direction are top tier.

I get into the fashion (design by Jonathan Anderson), what I thought was missing from the story, and the memes that still do circulate online about the film.
