This is one of those 90s movies that really shouldn’t have been made. Lucky for you that it was so bad that we still ended up having plenty to say about it. @agentmikey007 had the unfortunate experience of seeing this in the theater, but in 1997 we were really spoiled for choice at the cinema each week. It wouldn’t be a true exploration of 90s movies if we didn’t talk about the duds from time to time.

While I wasn’t a fan of this hack job of a script that wasted some talented actors, we at least got a good soundtrack. If you watched that BUSH music video for “Mouth” you basically saw the movie. We talk about how Julie Delpy only did the film to pay for her rent, the awkward performance of Tom Everett Scott, and how Julie Bowen had the best part in the entire film. Also, we read some funny Letterboxd reviews.

This was a fun one to explore. It’s so interesting to look back and see just how diverse television was when we were young. For this episode we’re discussing two different forms of horror/suspense anthology shows. Are You Afraid of the Dark was on Nickelodeon and marketed to us as kids and then Tales From the Crypt was the more adult version aired originally on HBO.

Me and @agentmikey007 talk two different episodes, The Tale of the Curious Camera starring Eddie Kaye Thomas and Dead Right starring Demi Moore. We talk our history with both shows and just how they really are a time capsule and just a fun watch.

It’s movies like this that make me love the 90s. The ability to make multi genre horror thrillers with a domestic medical drama and demon afterlife subplot is unmatched. I was searching for something to review in October and this has been on my list forever, mostly for the stacked cast. I went in knowing nothing and this was nothing short of a wild ride.

I mean Jeff Goldblum as the dad and Alicia Silverstone as the bratty daughter should be reason alone for you to see this. Within the first half of the movie we have demon possession, chunky sweaters, a car accident, and a Pearl Jam reference. Again we have the Pacific Northwest as a backdrop cause (duh, its the 90s) and a very weird and unexplainable Jeremy Sisto.

Never did I think that a little smol pumpkin boy captured my heart in the midst of this Halloween movie. This was my first watch and @agentmikey007’s suggestion for this month. I thought it was so cool and there were so many different horror tributes throughout.

We get into the reasons why this didn’t have a proper release, the dark Halloween Bus massacre story, and how we hope there is a sequel coming.
