San Francisco and San Diego based filmmaker and photographer, Teresa Arce shot friend and muse Josephine Shetty on a cloudy Wednesday morning in the tumultuous San Francisco neighborhood of Chinatown with a 35mm film camera. In “Blue China,” Teresa was inspired by the beautifully vibrant colors of San Francisco’s Chinatown as well as the surprise location being the tennis court in the middle of a myriad of Chinese souvenir shops and dim sum eateries. The urban tennis court resembles an immense concrete ocean. It’s sudden yet pleasant discovery gave way to the fusion of Chinese cultural aesthetics and the geometric “blueness”of the court.
She is deeply inspired by unique beauty, tenderness and femininity and hopes to keep shooting beauties in uncanny and ethereal places.
