Have you ever watched a movie and wondered what the fuck you just watched? But in a good way. Well, that’s usually the general consensus after watching Donnie Darko. Directed by Richard Kelly and released in 2001, the film stars a young Jake Gyllenhaal as the disaffected teen in the title role.
In the early 00s I was in university and someone came bursting into my room and was raving about this crazy movie they just saw. Turns out that film was Donnie Darko. It’s almost impossible to explain the premise ,which makes it even more intriguing. Through time travel and imaginary manipulation this cult classic film should definitely be on your list to watch.
