I’ve been testing out new beauty ranges and I decided to take a bit of break for my skin before jumping into a new review. Even though I’ve been mostly reviewing natural and vegan skincare lines, my skin was going through a bit of a rough patch. During my skin ‘downtime’ I discovered a new line called, LOLI Beauty. A line that encourages a BIY (blend it yourself) approach to create your own treatment specific to your skin concerns.
Starting with a base you can use a variety of mix-ins for your potion of choice. Here’s a review of my faves and what has worked for me.
Bases:
Chia Carrot Brûlée, $22, 0.72oz
This one has to be my ultimate favorite so far. Aside from the amazing fragrance, the consistency is a balm that absorbs into your skin quickly but doesn’t feel too greasy. Even with my typically oily skin in the summer it’s been great pairing it with a few drops of the ‘cranberry seed’ oil.
It’s described on their site as a 3-in-1 miracle balm. And it kinda is. For those dry areas that just don’t get enough attention, this totally works and hydrates cracked skin. It’s my nightly lip treatment as well. It can also be blended with other oils to make a great overnight mask treatment.
Mix-ins
I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter about tea seed in various forms for year but have yet to try it until now. Just a few drops mixed in any of the bases creates a more thick moisturizer but even the oil solo warmed in your palms helps clear your skin and keep the stray marks from acne at bay.
I’ve been adding this to the carrot base and been great at absorbing into the skin. Blended together with the base creates a great blemish fighting mask that has helped reduce some previous marks I had on my cheek.
Prickly Pear Seed, $28 0.24 oz
As a super hydrating oil I expect this will be amazing for my skin in the winter when I have more drying on my t-zone. In the meantime I’ve been using it on my hair to tame flyaways and my frizz so there are a multitude of uses.
