“If I could get rid of you without being able to lose you” Sarah Kane
The inspiration for this work was born and developed thanks to the works of the young English playwright Sarah Kane.
I was struck by some aspects of his work and his research, especially the theme of the inner conflict inherent in the human soul of many: the double personality.
In this project I focused on the transformation of the same subject in its humoral meanings through the construction of the fixed image that has the power to translate bipolar feelings.
The difference with a theatrical piece is enormous, but photographic images can also contain the power of movement, words and sounds, they can obtain in their silence a precise emotional communication of the concept to be expressed.
In the shots, through the changes of light, color, postures and expressions of the subject, his deepest and most contradictory feelings are unleashed, the internal transformation expressed by the body that contains them.
At times he is a sweet, innocent, bewildered boy who runs into, afraid, from the unpredictability of his uncontrollable and unknown states in another self that displaces and frightens…
