“THE ALTER EGO” is a story about a person’s other self who at first glance seems mysterious and uneasy, but inside’s hidden something explosive, which is presented by the photography & digital art on each image.

Story:

What happens when self-comfort and self-appreciation, two of many bullet points that help build a strong character are absent?

Many times, people have difficulties to express themselves, especially in their early 20s, that’s when “Alter Ego” takes over: Creating an alter ego is like creating an alternative persona who is unstoppable, that persona can overcome any obstacle that our true self can’t always do.

Some people believe that this alter ego protects the hidden self, the true self by building a strong wall, so tall and indestructible that prevents anybody from coming in.

Can Alter Ego can help you get out of your own way

It’s true that we restrain ourselves because of how we were raised and cause of that we’ve already formed a self- perception that is limiting, and that makes it difficult for us to step out of our comfort zone, but when creating an alter ego, we remove that barrier and we expand our limits because the alter ego itself is limitless. The alter ego is one’s hidden warrior and escape from reality.

The alter ego can be our opposite, they can be capable of amazing things, things that we couldn’t even imagine of doing.

But can we conquer life’s challenges without creating an alternative self?

If you get so caught up by creating this persona who is your opposite and is so powerful where does your original self-stand? Do you learn from your alter ego or do you become it?

In this story, I’ve portrayed how in a surrealistic way the “alter ego” has affected different people emotionally.
