The girls weren’t that far away from getting their beloved happiness, you know, they finally got their fabulous
designer pieces on and did their beautiful makeups, just like the ones from the stars in the movies.
And it was all thanks to a quick visit from their neighbour. Fate, that was the young man’s name. He had recently come back from his holidays in the big city. It had been forever since the girls had had such a direct connection to the “real world” and when he came back, they almost devoured him with all their questions.
After all, they were two country girls with big, shiny dreams. It’s worth mentioning that, all along, they had been craving for something more, yet they had never spoken a single word to each other about it. Neither of them could stand finding themselves dragging sacks of dirt around any longer nor digging up holes for potatoes in the bare ground. Their father wished the life that they had for them.
However, they were born to be like the girls in the movies, to live in the big city and have their own
marvelous lives. After the long conversation, or may I say, interrogatory, to their neighbour, when they were about
to drift off to sleep, their past started to become heavy on their shoulders, and so they stopped just thinking about the
future like every other night and decided to make it present. No matter at whatever cost it had to take, even if they
had to step on each other. And so they did.
